Reverse/Forward Knob
I. Wire Motion Control (Forward/Reverse)
This knob or switch directly controls the hydraulic motor that drives the wire.
1. Forward
Purpose: Rotates the wire in the normal cutting direction. This is the most commonly used operating mode.
Working Scenario:
Performs all normal cutting operations.
The diamond beads on the wire are designed with a directional orientation; forward rotation ensures maximum efficiency.
Provides necessary cooling water to drain out of the kerf and cool the wire.
2. Reverse
Purpose: Rotates the wire in the opposite direction of normal cutting.
Working Scenario (Very Important!):
Main Use: Resolves wire jams ("wire biting" or "wire pinching"). If the wire becomes stuck in the kerf during cutting, switching to reverse mode allows the wire to slowly unsnap, unblocking the jam. This is the core safety and rescue function of reverse operation.
Exit Cut: Used after completing a cut or when temporarily removing the wire.
Special Situation Handling: Reverse rotation may be necessary to adjust the saw at certain cutting angles.
Key Safety Point: Never force forward rotation when the saw cord is stuck. This can cause the cord to break, which is extremely dangerous and costly. The correct approach is to immediately switch to reverse rotation and slowly withdraw the saw.
II. Machine Travel Control (Forward/Reverse/Manual/Auto)
This knob controls the motor or hydraulic system that moves the machine along the guide rails.
1. Forward & Reverse
Purpose: Controls the direction of machine movement along the guide rails.
"Forward": The machine moves in the direction of the cut, driving the saw cord deep into the material.
"Reverse": The machine withdraws from the cut, retracting the saw cord from the kerf.
